E.S.I.C. Contribution reduced wef 01/07/2019

Government of India: Rate of contribution under the ESI Act has been reduced from 6.5% to 4% (employers’ contribution reduced from 4.75% to 3.25% & employees’ contribution reduced from 1.75% to 0.75%). Reduced rates will be effective from 1st July 2019.

SC rulling on spectial allownces dated 28th February 2019 for the purpose of computing monthy PF contribution

Supreme Court of India has passed a ruling on 28 February, whereby it has been held that allowances such as special allowance, canteenallowance, lunch incentives, conveyance allowance etc. are to be considered in the nature of wages, and therefore to be included for the purpose of computing monthly PF contributions.

 Accordingly, the ruling will result in increased PF contributions being payable by companies in respect of employees whose basic wages are lower than INR 15,000 per month as well as in respect of foreign nationals treated as International Workers.


Amendment in the scheme guidelines of Pratdhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojna (version dated 23.02.2017) - reg

With the approval of Competent Authority the guidelinesof PMRPY dated 23.02.2017 have now been revised to insert the following Clause (as Para No. A (h) in thr Appendix of PMRPY guidelines:

" For claiming the benefits under PMRPY scheme for a particular month an employer is required to submit the ECR. In case the employer does not submit ECR for claiming benefits under PMRPY by 15th of subsequent month, he will not be eligible for availing the benefits under PMRPY scheme for that month".



Haryana LWF Amendment
Employee Share 0.2 % of salary subject to maximum of Rs. 25.00
Employer share twice the contribution of employee share.
Employee means who is on rolls of establishment on last working day of the month. If employee left before the last day of the month then no contribution in that month.
